Ford Kenya party leader and
Bungoma Senator, Moses
Wetangula, has dismissed reports
that he is holding talks with
Deputy President, William Ruto,
ahead of the 2017 Presidential
election.
In an interview with one of the
major dailies on Sunday,
Wetangula said he cannot
associate with the Jubilee coalition
which stole their victory on March
4th election.
“I have not held talks with Ruto
and I have no intention of doing so.
Why would I leave CORD where I
have a better chance of becoming
the President? I will remain in
CORD,” Wetangula said.
According to reports on Saturday,
Ruto and Wetangula have been
having a series of meetings in
preparation towards the 2017
Presidential election.
It is also alleged that, Ruto
supported and funded
Wetangula’s campaigns in the by-
elections out of the realization that he needs a foothold in Western Kenya that it is the home to thecountry’s second largest
community.
But Wetangula dismissed all the
allegations saying he is firmly in
CORD and he cannot associate with
the Jubilee Government without
permission from his constituents
and other CORD leaders.
