WILLIAM RUTO bribed an ICC WITNESS number 036 with Sh 2 MILLION to recant his testimony – BENSOUDA REVEALS

Thursday February 13, 2014 -
Deputy President, William Ruto, is
alleged to have bribed an
International Criminal Court (ICC)
witness to recant his testimony.
This is according to ICC Chief
Prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, who
said it is highly likely that William
Ruto’s men approached witness
number 036 and bribed him with
Sh 2 million to recant his
testimony.
Bensouda alleges that the witness
was bribed at a hotel in Nairobi a
day before his flight to The Hague.
In her submission to the court -
the ICC prosecutor also alleges
that the witness had been offered
a Sh2 million bribe to withdraw as
a witness and returned to Eldoret
to consider the offer.
She also revealed that she received
a telephone call from the
witness’s wife who sent a message
to Bensouda’s team saying “bye
be…fore ever” signaling that her
husband had broken all
cooperation with the Prosecution.
Bensouda now wants the ICC court
to compel the Kenyan Government
to produce those witnesses who
have been bribed by the defence.
But in a tough response to
Bensouda’s remarks, Ruto’s
lawyer Karim Khan denied these
accusations and accused Bensouda
of conducting shoddy
investigations.
